Two miles with Denali, total time was 20.58, pace was 10:27 not bad for the Bob, but I can do better. I felt my foot but it was not uncomfortable just present. I felt like I rn crooked like I carry myself on one side and drag the other, I haven't noticed it until Nicole and I talked about shoes. Jeff say I do run funny on my rigth foot he has always noticed... I think other things were probably more pressign at the time:).

2 even with the Bob and Garmin, 10:47 pace, 2nd mile I had a head wind, Bob acted slightly like a sail. I have very bad form don't even know where to start with improving that. I think it will help gimp foot. Gimp foot didnt hurt still just noticeable. I am still crooked not any straiter than yesterday;) Google here I come...

What did google say? I checked out this video from the library called "Chi Running" that was interesting about form. I'm not sure I can adopt anything I learned, but it was interesting nonetheless!

It was an unexpectadly nice run depite sheeting rain and wind. The night had magical qualities that I enjoyed and Denali liked the sound raindrops made on her cover.

I run very strange like swish, thud, swish, thud instead of thud, thud... I can think about it and thud, thud but it actually takes thought. Like my left foot hits the ground early and skids to the stop.

I looked it up and I didn't really find anything I searched "crooked runner" and "dominant foot runner" no good, must keep looking. I also tried to make an appt. with a Doctor but I only got an answering machine. Although my foot felt fine today I cant help but think this funny way I run is going to cuase me the same problem or an even worse one once I start logging long runs.

If you find someone that does official running gait analysis let me know, because I need that too, I'm sure I run weird with my hips which is why I have all these problems. Hope you had a good run this morning! Hopefully I'll be joining you soon!

http://www.breakawaytrainingonline.com/services/biomech_eval.htm This link is for an office in Portland that does biomechanical analysis on runners... it's $125 but for what it is that sounds reasonable to me. I'm going to do a more local search for this. I can't wait until your back:)

Quikc run with Jeff pushing D in the Bob. We timed .92 and ran it in 8:40 so I was definitly pleased because while it may not have been under 9 for a mile it would have been close. I'm always faster when I'm trying to keep up with Jeff. I accidently was trying to find the light and messed up timing but oh well. Tonight I ran on the balls of my feet, felt easier but weird. Worked different muscles, I read this is a good thing to do so I'm going to try and work on it. I did'nt even notice that I had feet so I see that as a plus!!! I plan on doign a 7 mile run next weekend. Yayyyyy!!!

Fun but Gramin didn't start tracking until the satellite loaded so the mileage was off but we ran it on Sunday so we knew exactly how far but didn't get the time. Bummer because I really pushed to keep up with Jeff. Ran on toes, zero foot pain, nice run. Denali cooed to Daddy the whole way.

2 miles running with Denali at Federal Way Community Center. They have a nice track I enjoyed it, however Denali was not as impressed. The basektball court bothered her, it was too noisy.

 

We ran 2 miles and walked 20 minutes. The tempature is perfect there.

Quick run around the neighborhood, I borrowed Jeff's shuffle because mine was out of batteries and I loved his song list, it had me running faster then normal and I really feel my shins now. A couple walking loops around the block to cool down. Very nice, I haven't run with music in so long.

I didn't really feel up to running today. I told myself its ok to slack off and decided when I started not to take the Garmin just go with how I felt. Well I felt like walking home, I'm super tired. On the way home a car full of neighbors blew an airhorn out of the window of thier car when they saw us. -- Who does that?! My wonderful baby slept though it but it was enough to really anger me. I didn't get the best look at the car, white Toyota is all I know. I still would really like to give them a piece of my mind. I cannot even begin to imagine what kind of creep gets joy out of delibratly scaring a stranger and her baby.

We cheered up the second we got home, made potatoes with string beans and mushrooms in the WOK-- delicious. I normally by the cheap potatoes in the red bag but this time I had some Yukon Gold and they are so good! D was all smiles and giggles. Turned out to be a wonderful night:)!

3 miles with D in the stroller. It was a nice run, I felt completly unmotivated but one cheese quesadilla later I was dancing around the house with the Babe. It was a nice night, warm and not raining. Tomorrow I will do a seven mile run I'm going to get to RUN on trails that are not in the neighborhood.!!!! Yipee!!!!!! 7 miles, went past the golf course and there were two Donkeys eating by a fence. I showed them to D she was not ass(he he) in love with them ass I was:). They were so cute! I felt totally depleted by 5.5 but I kept on and I'm glad I did. I managed to maintain decent form I think I didn't feel like I was shuffling my feet. I used a Mocha Cliff Gell-- Yummy and I question if I would have had as positive a run if I had'nt used the gel. Clearly I'm still not fast:) It will come with time.

I got up early and ran around the neighborhood. It was suprisingly nice and I enjoyed it. I saw what Anya is always talking about with the sparkly frost. Very pretty. I tried to go on Monday but we just didn't feel like it:)

 

Oh yeah-- Jeff wants to get a treadmill-- who knows if we really will but he's all paranoid about me running in the dark all the time. I really like this idea, I would still run outside all the time (D and I can do this togetehr an we enjoy it) but it would be nice to pop out 2 miles every morning in the warmth of the house. I'm going to stalk Craigslist maybe I'll find one I liek.

Having a TM is the best! Though I don't use mine very much anymore since I love running outside and now we belong to the gym, which has an indoor track. Maybe when Denali is older you can leave her at the gym daycare and run on the track? Plus daylight savings will be here someday!

This was actually an awesome run, I started to go for 4 but I just kept on until 8, Denali noticed at Mile 6 and decided she wanted to go home. I paused the Garmin a couple times and forgot to turn it back on, but I think I might have gotten 6 miles accuratly. Yayyy it gave me averages anyways!

 

I'm ending the night with Sex and the City 2 --- FAIL. I'm serious so far this movie is NOT living up to my high expectations.

On another note I got to see my sister and my SUPER, DUPER HANDSOME nephew today for an hour while they were made thier way to their lovely new home in honolulu. It was the 1st time they met Denali and she totally loved them, she gave each one a breast exam looking for milk:) My brother in law Chris probably could have done with out his bonus boob inspection.

4 miles with the Bob -- felt good but not as good as yesterday:( My calves are tight ALL the time now except on days that follow rest days. I have been stretching them out frequently during the day it helps a little. It doesn't hurt or anything I just prefer to feel loose. I'm super excited I made a runnig date with Nicole and Denali tomorrow evening and one with Anya on Saturday!!! Yayyy:)

I think these time would have been a teeny bit faster but I was fightig with my Zoot running capris the ENTIRE time. They kept riding down where the crotch was mid thigh it was super frustrating. I have only worn them a couple of times and every time I wear them I'm reminded of how much I dislike them, they are just so uncomfortable. I have had them for 3 + years-- they are the worst running capris in the world. I like the Adiddas that I normally wear and have several pairs of so much better(too bad they were all dirty).

I felt the EXACT SAME WAY, it was A magical run that felt almost effortless and mkes you think you can run forever! It also was really energizing because I prefer running with people to running alone so it recharged my motivational batteries (so to speak).

Run with Anya and group from Enumclaw. It was very nice to run out here with beautiful views of Ranier and other mountains. It was complete with horses and cows, every one we passed was so nice and Anya and I had great converstaions the whole time. I got to meet June and Anna (girls Anya runs with in the mornings) super nice.

I got a boob ache- seriously like a side stick but my boob which had us walking a couple of times for probably 30 ft. It was funny but a sign that I may need running bras that fit better. This run was a lot faster than I am used to and I can definitly tell now that were done, I'm pretty depleted but  take that as a sign that I'm building on my times and getting better. :)

Torrential rain and serious wind. Still it was nice and somewhat warm considering. This run felt refreshing and fun but I didnt want to keep nugget  out in the elements too long.

3 miles in McKinney Texas. It was nice and there was a cool wind blowing. The highlight of this run was seeing two cowboys ride through the subdivision:) I would have ran farther but I just didnt have the energy for it.

    3. I fueled my body with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups:) yum

 

I started with 10 in mind but I told myself to settle for 6, the conditions just seemed perfect so I kept on with it. Very nice-- my only concern is that it was really cold today and I dont know that I should have Denali out for 2 hours in 37 degree temps even bundled up on the stroller with all her blankets and the cover. I checked her temp multiple times and it didnt get too low so I'm pretty sure she took it in stride.

Yayayyayayyay Golf Course Loop, very nice and crisp and I even did "Speed work" seriously:), I used the virtual partner on the Garmin and ran and 8:14 mile. Just one and then I walk/ jogged back but it felt good and was easier than I thought it would be. To be completly honest the first .5 went by so fast I couldnt belive it, the last 500 ft seemed the worst. I really like how it tells you what you have left not what you have run. I wish I had stepped it up just a teeny bit for the 8:13!!!

Sad day I actually wore gloves and I lost one of them during my fast mile:( It was neon green and made of yarn total value $.50. Still I really liked that bright green glove, I hope I find it.

 

I want the weather to improve, I want summer to come and I want to be running with my freinds all the time again. I want this all to happen now!!!!:)

Run with Anya and the Enumclaw group. It was cold but beautiful outside, I really liked the location of this run even though half of it was up hill. The times reflect me taking a couple walk breaks up the hill and we took a couple breaks on the way down as well.

Anya's left knee was giving her trouble( I hope if feels better) and my legs felt dead (not sure why- I loaded up n Swedish Fish before we started).

I met a ton of other women which is so nice and they invited me back:)

Awesome, wonderful weekend. Ran my first half marathon with my family, Nicole and Anya. It was just so amazing and fun. Nicole hosted everyone at her family's home so the night before we had fun playing games, drinking beer, and eating.

The weather was perfect it was warmer than normal and the sun was shining, at times on the course with out shade I thought it would be nice if it were cooler:). This was a great race, everyone was so nice and they had good food. The course was super pretty even though it seemed like it circled the town dump. Mossy trees and flowing river, pretty country side and farm animals, it was very scenic.

 

Nicole was second and Anya was fifth for their races and age divisions. I'm so proud of my speedy freinds. They worked thier butts off and totally deserved it!!! I want to run TONS of races with these girls!!

4 really slow miles-- I'm still feeling a little under the weather but not full on sick. Just don't have much energy. This was a special run however, my dear baby stayed awakes to coo and talk almost the entire time. She was looking around and smiling and laughing so sweet that girl is.

On another note, I went to Fred Meyer to get Chia seeds and try it-- they were out:( A gal at my work has lowered her cholesterol by 100 points (seems huge, I don't know for sure though) just with 1 tablespoon mixed with 1 cup of water a day. She says she feels great but she would'nt call it a miracle drink:). I MUST try it!!!

I'm not really sure how far I ran my Garmin was messing up and had trouble finding satelites. I had to re-set 2 times. I kept running and the noticed it was only recording time not distance.

Today was super neat-o because we went to pick the cat up from the kennel so she probably ran  half a mile with us. She was not very happy but I totally dug it as did Ally the girl working at the kennel and D.

Today was beautiful it had crazy rain storms that came from nowhere but the time I spent outside was bright and rejuvinating. I love it when I get to see the sun. D kept trying to cover her face, she may be a vampire I am not 100% sure yet.

Wonderful run with the girls at Soos Creek Park. I havent been here before and I actually thought it was in Auburn but it's very close to my house and reminds me of Alaska so I LOVE IT. Anya was running late so Nicole and I ran a little bit before meeting back up for another 2+ miles with Anya. Seriously great run and much farther than I had planned on but so glad about that. I think it is easier to run longer in new places. Hope to check out more new runs areas!!!

To the new apartment to feed the cat and up the hill back to the house, it was fun and beautiful out. I have a new cover for my futon and I put it in the dryer at the apartment and I was really suprised that the dyrer got so hot it melted parts of the cover-- its not got holes but part of the velour is slighlty crunchy in spots now. Kind of buumed me out, 1st the quality of the cover was much less than I had expected and second now I'm scared of the dryer:) Came home with Nugget extraordinaire and we had some Granola Peach ( she does not like peaches) but she ate it anyway out of despeartion:). Sweet one that kid is! Oh I put her in the BOB forward facing like a big kid in a real stroller, she totally loves it-- and she is so cute that way. When I put her to sleep tonight she promptly grabbed her cribbed rails and stood up-- she is so strong.

On another note -- Thank you Nicole for motivating me-- seriously needed the push:) and your going to rock your Half this weekend! Is Salem by Eugene or Hayworth field because Kara Gouocher is signing books in OR this weekend.

Also I do not understand how anyone could not love broccolli-- it is delicious.

I added up all the miles in my Marathon training plan and including marathon it totals 473.2 which does not seem all that bad for some reason, now I ONLY have 469 miles left. :)

I think I may take 2 full weeks off after this weekend to help my ankle hopefully heal all the way and then dive into the schedule (if you're in!).

Fathers Day 5K with Anya. It was awesome but i started out wrong. I had to get cash and I did'nt dress properly. Remember when I told you about the post baby lady leaking problem... well I wore my new gray capris instead of black and lady leaking problem reared its wet pants. Seriously I wet my pants while running because I have very little bladder contral. Its unpredictable completlty sporadic and I'm ok with it. The best thiing about wetting your pants is that its super funny, all you can do is smile.

Anya totally kicked butt she finished way above her time goal at 24:01 second, I trailed in at 29:36 but mind you I did that while wetting my pants. I would say I deserve a points bonus because I was multi tasking:)! Really though I won (I was the only one in my age division) but still I won. It was a super fun race with tons of very nice people in a beautiful location. I really enjoyed this, I think I woudl like to run a small 5K like this every week or two. What a motivator and for the 1st half I was well on my way to hitting my 27:00 minute goal-- that made me happy as now I totally know I can improve my times. I was also suprised I had to drive though old Auburn and its so much prettier than I would have expected. 

Now we have to talk Anya into coming to Oktoberfest not to to run but just to have fun!!!! :)  I'm looking for a house fo rus!!!!

Jeff watched D. I love the new shoes they feel solid, I notice that they are built different than other shoes. You know where it normally curves in for your arch-- these don't it almost seems as if they are on the wrong feet. I'm geussing this is why they are so awesome. I forgot to charge my Ipod so bummed. I dont feel too safe listening to music with D because I want to be on high alert and protect her from all the people who might try to steal her cute little baby butt but for me alone music is king!

I have to go shower  but I have a goal to run 9 miles this weekend. Dont laugh but to do this I am gpoing to just do a mile here and there so Im goign to wear running capris the whole weekend.  Make a game out of it.

 

Later in the afternoon we walked to the Farmers Market in downtown Kent. It was awesome, we got snap peas, baby onions, fresh garlic and mushrooms to make Daddy Day Stir Fry. Yummy!

Today I ran at Alki with my freind Angela. She has a knee injury and is just getting back into running. It was neat-- not many people probably due to the fact that its a week night. We found an amazing park behind Saltys that has two landings for with the best Seattle sklyline views ever. I was really happy with this run. It was good to connect with Angela and run in a different neighborhood.

Denali had so much fun, especially because we got milkshakes from Luna Cafe-- she literally drank 3/4 of it and was arm deep scooping the contents out of the bottom of the cup. Wolfing down cookie pieces drenched in ice cream. She was so hilarious, totally covered in chocolate ice cream from head to toe and she was SOOO sticky. It was too funny.

Jeff wants you to quit your job? Tell me more about this! Walk on your heels a lot, ice your shins, take ibuprofen, strengthen your calves by doing raises up on your toes (do them on the stairs for even more resistance).

Do you need a training calendar? If you can (I will do these with you since I will be back by then) you should do one or two double-workouts - doing a run in the morning and a run in the evening.

Ran/ jog along Frager to feed mini donkeys carrots, but they were in a pasture that we coudlnt reach:(.  We stumbled  upon a strawberry u-pick it farm and picked up a ton and some cherries. When I started at 8 it was 94 degrees, when I finshed at 8:20 it was 99 degress. Despite the hot it truly did'nt feel that bad. I did get some sun in those 20 minutes though.

Run with Jeff -- we ran most of this stopped a couple times and walked a quarter of a mile. For whatever reason this run seemed hotter than Texas...

Jeff's knee doesn't hurt but it now makes a popping sound when he walks. He has decided to postpone his every day running with me:(... propbably a very good idea on his part.

I was really ambitious and thought that D and I could run the BPA twice with Nicole, Anya and Jordanne. D had a complete fit-- poor girl she is learning now that tantrums dont pay. We made it 4 miles, I really would have liked to run the rest with the girls. :( Although BPA is super challenging for me especially when pushing the BOB I still enjoyed it and thank you guys for putting up with the slowness and the screams.

Jeff watched D and I ran the loop around the Golf course back to the pad. IT was nice and cool, I talked with a little old man on the way too he was probably 80 and riding a bike all over. He said the downfall to being that old is that even though he rides every day he is now starting to forget the trail system.

 

Ran 4 miles at 7:30 with Renton Mommy Club. D cried for 3 miles of it...

5 miles with Nicole and Cooper at the BPA. It was warm out-- very oddly warm on a cool day. There were tons of people in various sporting event also. I'm so glad Nicole is back to go running with.

Fun IRC run with Nicole and Jordanne. Nicole took Denali for the first half of the 5k-- and we made the best time ever. It would be nice to run consistant miles at 8 minutes or even a teensy bit less. Sounds like so much hard work...:)

I ran at 6:30 am at Bellows Air Base in Hawaii. This was nice I ran aroound the camp then on a trail behind everything. It was hot HOT hot. My lungs burned I'm not used to that kind of climate.  I wish I had run more in Hawaii.

I bought a new charger for my shuffle and was more than happy to use it to bust out a christmas eve 10 miler!!! It was so wonderful, I had forgotten just how lovely running with tunes is. When I updated my playlist I did note that Apple has found a way to erase more than half of my tunes... I really see a class action lawsuit in thier future. Seriously, I'm not techy at all but I do know what stealing is and to make it intentionally difficult to figure out how to get back music that Itunes feels may or may not be legitamatly (sp) registered to one of your six computers is crap!

I really love music so much. I also bought new headphones which were ten times more comfortable than the ear buds the shuffle came with. I should have doen that a long time ago.

I ran the Golf course loop all the way to 212th then back up past the mini donkeys which have been replaced by :) calves almost to HWY 167. There was very little traffic becasue it was Christmas eve. I maily ran this far because Nicole's Marathon Training Plan calls for being half - marathon ready on March 26th. I don't want to have to work to bring it back so I hopefully I can just maintain the minimum standard. I'm thinking perhaps taht I could get away with a 10-13 mile run every 3 weeks until the end of March.
